Argyros to Fill Theater with Local Talent

John Mauldin and his sister Leslie Mauldin, who performed a free lawn concert at Sun Valley Resort this summer, will be among the first to perform at the new Argyros Performing Arts Center.

Dance and music will fill the new Argyros Performing Arts Center Saturday, while theater, comedy and a smattering of ideas will headline Sunday’s performances.

Here is the lineup for the community celebration marking the opening of the center on the former site of the nexStage Theatre at Main and First streets in Ketchum.

  • SATURDAY, Nov. 24, 2-4 p.m.

    Opening remarks by Ketchum Mayor Neil Bradshaw

    Dance performance of “Chelsea Bridge” featuring dancer Cristina Arpp Price and pianist Alan Pennay in a choreographed piece by Anne Winton.

    “Children Go Where I Send Them,” featuring Footlight Dance Centre dancers Dakota Barth, Jaysa Bozzuto, Amari Caballero, Jacqueline Cronin, Norah Dowdle, Sydney Herold, Piper Kolb, Adri Meyer, Abigail Verst and Brooklyn Williamson. Choreographed by Hilarie Neely.

    “New Heartbeat,” featuring Sun Valley Ballet School dancers Alyssa Durand, Madison Miller, Luke Stevenson, Marisol Hernandez, Romina Zavala, Andrew Durand and guitar player Mathew Durand.

    “It Happened in Sun Valley,” featuring Wood River High School Colla Voce under the direction of Max Stimac.

    “Bye, Bye, Love” featuring WRHS B-Tones men’s group under the direction of R.L. Rowsey.

    “Something Told the Wild Geese,” featuring Caritas Chorale under the direction of R.L. Rowsey.

    “The Prayer,” featuring John Mauldin, Leslie Mauldin and R.L. Rowsey on behalf of Sun Valley Opera.

    Mozart’s “Allegro from Eine Kleine Nachtmusik,” featuring Wood River Orchestra violinists and cellist Linda Parker, Lynne Heidel, and Cynthia Wooley Kearns.

    Mozart’s “Allegro from Piano Sonata in F Major” and Chopin’s “Prelude in E Minor” featuring pianist Tristan Boloix.

  • SATURDAY, Nov. 24

Old Death Whisper featuring Rico Hood, Kent Mueller and Drew Tomseth from 6 to 7 p.m.

Sheep Bridge Jumpers featuring Lacey Heward-Thompson, Casey Sedlack, Zach Herbert, Cam Bouiss, Connor Wade, Cody Barnhill and Mark Oliver from 7 to8 p.m.

SUNDAY, Nov. 25, 2-4 p.m.
