Saturday, February 9, 2019

Duck out of the snow and into Innovation Day.

The Sun Valley Community School will throw its fourth Innovation Day Jr. from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at the school campus off Dollar Road in Sun Valley.

The event is a free opportunity for children ages 5 through 8 to create, innovate and engage. Children need not attend the Sun Valley Community School to take part.

School faculty members will host a variety of fun STREAM-focused projects, including designing a marble maze. Other activities including making play snow and a melting snowman; building sculptures out of tinfoil and blocks; building a monster kinetic sculpture puppet and creating out of tape, paint and oil pastel.

Register in advance at Questions? Call Katie Robins at or 208-622-3960, extension 117.

We hear a lot about STEM-based educations. But what is STREAM?

It stands for Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art and Math.
