Picture Show Delves into Hailey’s Beginnings

The great-grandson of John Hailey, for whom the town was named, showed off these trinkets of his famous relatives while visiting the valley a few years ago.

Hailey’s resident historian Rob Lonning will offer a free slide show about Hailey’s early days at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the Hailey Public library.

In particularl, Lonning will explore the dynamic local and national forces that intersected, leading to the town’s establishment in 1881.

He will use iconic images from the Martyn Mallory and other historic photographic collections to illustrate the talk.
