They may be artists from Bellevue, which boasts a treasure trove of talented artists. But they’re taking up residence in Hailey over the Fourth of July Weekend.

The Bellevue Artist Alliance is staking claim to the former Barkin’ Basement Building at 111 S. Main St.  from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, July 7.

Exhibitors are Anne Jeffery, Lee Higman, Marie Stewart, Gina Pearson, Mark Sheehan, David Rau, Jock Brown, Elisabeth Bayer, Pam Street, Tom Clark and Jed McDonald.

Tom Clark and Jed McDonald may have to sit on the curb crocheting during the Fourth of July parade to keep up with the demand for their hats and scarves made of merino, cashmere, Samoyed fur, silk and other fibers.

Rau, for instance, will have new ball caps sporting his imagery of trout and sheep and embroidered by Davis Embroidery, in addition to his fine art portraits of fish and sheep.

Marie Stewart will have her aboriginal-like art of Wood River landscapes underneath the beautiful antique tin ceilings of the building, which sits a couple storefronts north of the Hailey Public Library.

And Tom Clark and Jed McDonald will be peddling their one-of-a-kind luxurious beanie caps and nekkers that they crocheted by hand out of handspun or millspun animal fibered yarns shorn from alpaca, angora sheep and other creatures.

You may not need them for the Fourth of July, but winter is coming.
