BCRD to Seal Coat Wood River Trail
Bicyclists will want to confine their use of the bike path to the trail that stretches from Fox Acres Road in Hailey to Hulen Meadows next week.
Tuesday, August 6, 2019

Part of the Wood River bike trail will be closed next week for seal coating.

The routine maintenance will be performed on the bike path from the south side of Fox Acres Road in Hailey to Gannett Road in Bellevue from Monday, Aug. 12, through Friday, Aug. 16.

Alternate routes may not be suitable for road bikes, rollerblades, bike trailers, dogs and nighttime travel.

Seal coating involves applying an asphalt emulsion to seal the trail surface. The worn asphalt surface roughens and cracks during years of regular use and harsh weather. Seal coating helps preserve its smooth surface.

It’s important that trail users stay off the new surface for 48 while it dries. Wet seal coating material can ruin shoes, clothes, bikes, roller blades and the trail surface, as well.
